Everybody loses people they love. It’s a fact of life — an unfortunate one any time, but especially when the loss comes far too soon. Sometimes the loss is private, shared only with those closest to us. On rare occasions, it’s intensely public. Most of the time, it’s somewhere in between.

Let me clarify that statement right off by stating that I do not have breast cancer. When I say, “I am walking in support of myself,” that is not at all what I mean.

The hardest day

When you experience something major with other people, it creates a bond. You might not “know” the people who shared the experience with you, but you know them.

I went to the official Training Kickoff for the Arizona 3-Day for the Cure this morning and it was amazing!

I am a big believer in perspective and the larger picture, but everybody has those blah moments when perspective abandons them. It’s how you deal with those moments that matters, right?

I was cleaning — and I use the term loosely — this evening when I stumbled on my old copy of “Chicken Soup for the Soul.” Have you read it? There are some amazing stories in there. It’s a great source of inspiration.

I’m giving up oxygen
